The Amphitheater Unified School District received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The distinction is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.

“We would like to share this prestigious acknowledgment with the Amphi Community. This could not have been accomplished without your support,” AUSD chief financial officer Scott Little said on the district's website. “Accurate financial reporting is key in being able to plan appropriately for the future.”

The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond minimum requirements and create stronger financial reports.

Reports submitted to the CAFR program are reviewed by members of the GFOA professional staff and the GFOA Special Review Committee (SRC), which comprises individuals with expertise in public-sector financial reporting and includes accountants, auditors, professors, as well as other finance professionals.
