The Avra Valley Fire District bought a new fire truck with $259,947.30  from the Tohono O’odham grant program.

The Tohono O’odham Nation identified the district as a priority area in need of better public safety and health care. With the new truck, Avra Valley Fire will have three trucks in service, decreasing response times to emergencies in the district.

The fire truck, a Type I engine, carries a three-person crew.
