Catalina Community Services, a nonprofit that helps those in need in northwest Tucson and outlying areas, has expanded to the opposite end of the metro area, opening a branch dubbed Greater Vail Community Services.

“We were approached by a grassroots group of concerned citizens to provide services. We are starting with a food bank and will gradually duplicate our services for the Vail area,“ said Catalina Community Services Executive Director Barbara McClure in a news release. “All funds and food items donated in Vail will directly support the Vail community.”

The location is at 13190 E. Colossal Cave Rd., unit 130 in the Old Vail Station, two doors down from the Post Office. Hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 2-6 p.m. Thursday.

There will be a grand opening sometime in late May.
