Catalina Mountain Elks award community members

Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge No. 2815 honored community members for their contributions at a March 22 award ceremony.

The lodge named Doug Harpold, funeral hume director and manager of Vistoso Funeral Home, Citizen of the Year "for his visibility in the community as a local business owner," according to a news release.

Jan Trudeau is Elk of the Year "for her outstanding contributions to the lodge and the community" as community and lodge activities coordinator. 

Richard Esparza is Elk Officer of the Year for his efforts an Inner Guard at the Elks’ District Ritual Team Competition, for which he received an award as "the hardest working officer on the team."

Matthew Gordon is Firefighter of the Year, "for his selfless commitment in helping others and for the valuable service he provides to the community."

Matthew Rothis Police Officer of the Year "for his quick response to emergency situations and his dedicated service in creating a safer environment in protecting the citizens and visitors of Oro Valley."
