Odessa Mix of Coronado K-8 School won the Amphitheater School District Spelling Bee Jan. 16 by spelling "chocolate" and "bonanza" correctly. 

Cezsar Baldonado of Prince Elementary placed second, followed by Jake Pisell from Wilson K-8, Donaldson's Ella Johnson and Cross Middle School's Joe Liang.

Mix and the other top finishers will advance to the Pima County Spelling Bee Feb. 22 at the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, 1200 West Speedway.
