Harkins Theatres is set to take over and re-open a familiar location to Marana moviegoers.

The Scottsdale-based theater chain is opening the theater, formerly known as Tower Theatres — at 5755 W. Arizona Pavilions Drive — as Harkins Arizona Pavillions 12 May 2, when "Iron Man 3" releases. Harkins is currently working on upgrading and remodeling the theater to fall in line with its other venues.

“This year marks our 80th year entertaining our friends and neighbors in Arizona,” said Dan Harkins, owner of Harkins Theatres, in a news release. “What better way to celebrate than to expand to a new Arizona location.”

Harkins will hire more than 75 employees at the location.
