At an Aug. 6 Town Council meeting, Marana approved a 38.84-acre annexation along West Twin Peaks Road between Tiffany Loop and North Casa Grande Highway.

Concluding a process that began in March, the town collected signatures approving of the annexation from more than half the property owners, representing more than half the value of the property and land.

Marana will maintain the roadways in the annexed area, which will be zoned for rural development. The town is continuing to look to square up its borders and absorb unincorporated islands.
