Thanks to $2 million in bond funding, two Marana Unified School District high schools are revamping their football fields with synthetic grass.

The fields are expected to be ready Aug. 21, which is just in time for the football season, which kicks off Aug. 23.

The surfaces are made up of grass that has been coated with rubberized pellets.
