Mountain View High School's Marissa Arndt was one of two Southern Arizona teachers to earn awards from the Arizona Family and Consumer Science Education organization.

Ardnt, a culinary arts teacher, will be honored at a luncheon as Outstanding New Teacher of the Year July 15 in the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort & Spa, 7000 N. Resort Drive. Arndt, a 26-year-old who hails from Scottsdale, is in her third year of teaching at Mountain View.

Also receiving recognition will be Mary Jondrow, Advanced Program Manager for Pima Community College – Desert Vista Campus, who has been named Outstanding Post-Secondary Educator.
