Mountain Vista Fire District hired administrative battalion chiefs Darin Reid and Michael Price in a March 17 badging ceremony.

"It is a pleasure to welcome to the District these two highly qualified fire service professionals who are ready to lead and mentor our workforce as well as serve our community today and into the future," said Mountain Vista Fire CEO/Fire Chief Ed Wilkerson, in a news release.

Reid has worked 27 years in fire and rescue experience and has been awarded the designation of Chief Fire Officer and Chief Medical Officer by the Commission on Professional Credentialing and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, receiving their Outstanding Research Award in 2011. He will oversee fire prevention/public education, 911 communications, IT services and district procurement.

Price has worked in fire service for nearly 25 years, working for Rural/Metro, Northwest Fire and Green Valley Fire District. He will oversee the district's operations division and facilities programs.
