Northwest Fire District saluted the efforts of two 12-year-old Marana boys for their efforts in helping rescue a neighbor, giving them Good Citizens distinctions.

At a May 3 assembly at Estes Elementary School, Northwest Fire honored William Blue Estrella and Julian Rodriguez. On April 8, they were on their way to school when they heard neighbor Ed Baltierra, who had fallen, call for help. The boys took care of the man and ran to a fire station to seek help.
