Oro Valley is offering a crash course on how the town government works.

Dubbed the Fall 2013 Community Academy, the class stretches across six Thursdays. The first class goes from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10, followed by the same time each following Thursday through Nov. 21. The setting is Oro Valley Town Hall, 11000 N. La Cañada Drive.

Classes take on subjects including town finance, sustainability and planning.
