The Oro Valley Police Department is offering a free, three-part self-defense class aimed at women.

Dubbed the Rape Aggression Defense Class, it goes from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 6, 13 and 20 at Oro Valley Library, 1305 W. Naranja Road.

The class is geared to help women safeguard themselves from attacks via awareness, prevention and risk-avoidance. Attendees should wear workout attire, because training will involve punching and kicking. Participants can bring their own snacks, and water will be provided.

The minimum age to participate is 15, and the class is capped at 20 people. To secure a spot, contact agraham@orovalleyaz.gov via email.
