Oro Valley students receive Elks scholarships

Four Oro Valley high school students won Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student scholarships in a May 5 ceremony at Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge No. 2815.

The scholarship recognzies academic achievements, participation in community services and leadership skills, among other attributes.

The biggest winners were Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's Joel Johnson, and Ironwood Ridge High School student Emma Bose, who won $4,000 awards.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's Grayson Barghols and Alex Kate Halvey, as well as Ironwood Ridge's Sarah Hefferan and Braden Whitaker, won $1,200 scholarships.
