Pusch Ridge Christian Academy student Alex Kate Halvey won a state oratorical competition and will compete in a national event April 20.

Halvey will compete for an $18,000 scholarship in the American Legion National Oratorical contest in Indianapolis April 20. She started her road to nationals in February by winning a contest conducted by Oro Valley American Legion Post 132.
