Securaplane Technologies Inc., which supplies avionics products for military, commercial and business aircraft, broke ground on its new facility in Oro Valley's Innovation Park.

The 55,000-square-foot facility, north of East Tangerine Road between East Innovation Park Drive and North Oracle Road, is expected to be in operation by the end of the year. The company took advantage of Oro Valley's Economic Expansion Zone review process, which allowed town administrators to review and approve the site plans, skipping the need for customary obstacles.

Securaplane was acquired in 2011 by Meggitt PLC.
