Marana Unified School District's Twin Peaks Elementary collected more than 7,000 diapers in a 10-day collection effort in January.

Twin Peaks Veterinary Center contributed to the total by matching the 3,748 diapers collected by students, totaling 7,496 to donate to the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona.

“Our students put their heart into this project, worked hard, and surpassed their goal which was originally to collect 1,500 diapers,” said Olivia Noriega, Twin Peaks Elementary School assistant principal. “It is important that our students continue to participate in service projects and value the importance of giving back to their community.”

The K-6 school, at 7995 W. Twin Peaks Road, has 543 students.
