Nonprofit Handi-Dogs helps the elderly and those with disabilities train their dogs to assist with tasks such as helping them stand, alerting them to sounds they miss and pick things up for them.

The organization is hosting a free informational session from 7 to 8 p.m. April 22 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Road.
