The Tucson unit of the Air National Guard, headquartered at Tucson International Airport, completed 100,000 consecutive flying hours in A-7 Corsairs with out a major accident as of the date of this picture taken Feb. 13, 1987. Pictured are Pilot Lt. Col. Harry Boone (in front of plane) and Technical Sergeant Flash Watson (in the back of the plane).

Today, the 162nd Fighter Wing at TIA has three squadrons totaling nearly 70 F-16 Fighting Falcons. And their safety record still as strong as 1987.
