Three men were arrested and over $325,000 in drugs were seized Thursday in separate incidents at the Nogales port of entry.
According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection news release:
- Luis Enrique Morales-Carrizoza, 48, of Nogales, Sonora was taken into custody after officers found 32 packages of methamphetamine in a compartment of his Dodge truck. The drugs weighed nearly 34 pounds and had an estimated value of $100,000.
- Fernando Sanchez-Andrade, 63, of Sonora, was arrested after 42 packages of marijuana were found in his Chevrolet truck. The marijuana weighed 316 pounds and was valued at about $158,000.
- Juan Carlos Terrazas, 23, of Queen Creek, who was a passenger in a Lincoln Continental, was arrested after officers found nearly five pounds of heroin around his torso. The heroin was valued at about $70,000.
The vehicles were also seized, and the men were referred to federal authorities.
