A body of a woman was found in a Catalina foothills home Tuesday, and a man was arrested in connection with the slaying, authorities said.

Myron Fletcher, 56, was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, said Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.

At about 10 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the 3500 block of East Guthrie Mountain Place to conduct a welfare check, and found signs that a crime may have been committed inside the home, said Rodriguez.

The home is in a neighborhood off East Skyline Drive and North Evans Mountain Drive.

Homicide detectives obtained a search warrant and found the body, Rodriguez said. She said detectives obtained evidence that led to the arrest of Fletcher.

The victim's name was not released, pending identification and notification to her relatives, said Rodriguez.

No further information was released.
