An 18-year-old man, on Monday, tried to smuggle $13,600 worth of methamphetamine across the border in an accordion.

Eloy Renteria-Ortiz of Mexico, hid about 4.5 pounds of meth in the bellows of the red, white and green squeezebox and tried to walk it across the Nogales border, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Officers stopped him at the gate and found the stash, which had a street value of more than $13,500.

The drugs and instrument were seized. Renteria was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
