A burglary investigation led Pinal County detectives to an even bigger bust.
A residential burglary reported Oct. 22, prompted investigators to set up surveillance on a suspect, Tim Gaffney, spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, said in a Nov. 6 press release. Eight days later the detectives served a search warrant on the Marana home of the suspect.
In addition to recovering some of the stolen property, detectives found a marijuana growing operation, Gaffney said. They confiscated 14 pot plants, some as tall as 6 feet.
Two people at the home were arrested. Michael White, 29, and Dawn Hay, 40, were booked into the Pima County Jail and face charges of burglary, theft, criminal trespass and possession of stolen property.
