Two men were arrested Monday night in connection with a midtown carjacking.
A woman called 911 at about 10:30 p.m. to report two men had stolen her car, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.
The theft took place in the 3300 block of North Country Club Road north of East Fort Lowell Road.
During the carjacking one of the robbers fired a shot, but Dugan didn’t know if it was aimed at the victim.
Patrol officers started looking for the woman’s car and spotted the suspects driving it in midtown. Once officers began following the car, it slowed and the passenger jumped out.
The driver then led officers on a chase through midtown that ended on the northwest side when the car crashed into a curb and couldn’t drive any farther, Dugan said.
Both men were arrested, but they have not yet been identified.
