A 2-year-old child nearly drowned at a foothills home Sunday afternoon.

Crews from Rural/Metro Fire responded to a home in the 4300 block of North Camino Vinorama, near North Craycroft and East River roads, after receiving a person reported that the child had been underwater in a pool for about a minute, said Batallion Chief Willie Treatch.

The child was taken to the hospital, Treatch said.

No other information was immediately available.
