Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a couple on the southwest side that stole a cart-full of groceries.

At about 8:30 p.m., June 27, the couple was shopping at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, 2823 W. Valencia Road at South Cardinal Avenue, according to a news release from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The pair loaded their shopping cart with groceries and had a cashier scan and bag them at the checkout counter. The man placed all of the bags in the grocery cart.

The last item would not scan so the cashier went check the price. That’s when the man wheeled the cart of groceries out of the store and put them into a maroon van.

The woman stayed behind and tried to pay for the groceries with an void gift card before leaving, too. She got in the van and the couple drove off.

The sheriff’s department did not provide a description of the couple, however, they ask anyone with information about the thieves to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
