A downtown intersection has been closed as police investigate a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, said Sgt. Maria Hawke, spokeswoman for the Tucson Police Department.

The intersection of West Alameda Street and North Granada Avenue will be closed in all directions at least until 8 p.m. while police investigate the collision.
