Two adults and two children were injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision on Tucson's south side.

A truck traveling south on Nogales Highway, near Hughes Access Road, veered into the northbound lane of travel and struck a 16 passenger church van with nine occupants, said Deputy Tracy Suitt, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

The driver of the van and the truck were taken to the hospital, Suitt said.

Two children were also injured.

Neither the adults nor the children had injuries that were considered life threatening, Suitt said.

The northbound lane of Nogales Highway is closed and traffic is being diverted on to Hughes Access Road, Suitt said.
