Free school supplies will be given out at a safety fair Saturday for students in kindergarten through high school.

Kids Back to School Safety Fair is being organized by The Tucson Police Foundation and the Adopt-A-Cop program. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the food court of Park Place mall, 5870 E. Broadway between South Craycroft and south Wilmot roads.

Each student will receive a free school bag and school supplies, and parents can pick up a free fingerprint kit.

The Tucson Police Department will give presentations on various subjects, including Internet safety and teen driving safety. Members of SWAT, the bomb squad and K-9 units will be making appearances throughout the day.

Parents can make their vehicles safer, too, with free VIN etching to deter auto thieves.
