Gusty winds, high temperatures and debris under a Catalina mobile home, made it challenging for firefighters to battle a Saturday afternoon blaze.
Crews were called at about 2:30 p.m. to a home in the 4100 block of East Pinto Lane southeast of the intersection of East Edwin Road and North Oracle Road.
When they arrived, the resident was in his front yard and smoke and flames could be seen at the rear of the home, Capt. Josh Hurguy, spokesman for the Golder Ranch Fire District, said in a news release.
It took firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control.
The fire was burning in the area of a water heater, but investigators have yet to determine the cause or the origin of the fire, Hurguy said.
An estimate of the damage was not available.
