Homicide detectives are investigating the deaths of a Tucson couple as an apparent murder-suicide, a police official said.

The husband and wife, both in their 50s, were found dead Thursday morning by their adult daughter, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

All three lived in a home on the west side, in the 3100 block of West Vuelta de los Mineros near the intersection of West Sweetwater Drive and North Silverbell Road.

The names of the husband and wife have not been released.

Their daughter returned home at about 10 a.m., found her parents dead and called 911, Dugan said. A handgun was found near the bodies.

Homicide detectives are interviewing family, friends and neighbors to “find out what’s been going on history-wise and see if there’s anything that would lead them up to what happened today,” Dugan said.
