A lock-down has been lifted at an east side high school after a shooting at a nearby convenience store.

A little after 12:30 p.m. officers were called to the Circle K, at 8702 E. Speedway at East Camino Seco, in reference to a shooting.

A man and two women were arguing in the parking lot. When the confrontation turned physical, a Good Samaritan tried to intervene and was shot in the arm, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

The man with the gun and the two women left the parking lot on foot before officers arrived. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Widmer said.

“It could have been a lot worse,” Widmer said.

Immediately following the shooting, Sahuaro High School, at 545 N. Camino Seco near East Fifth Street, went into lock-down, Widmer said.

The lock-down has since been lifted, according to a Tucson Unified School District official.

Officers are still looking for the shooter.
