A Nogales, Sonora man was arrested Thursday at the international border after attempting to smuggle $344,000 worth of drugs at the port of entry.

Luis Alberto Chavez-Felix, 21, was taken into custody after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found 20 packages of drugs in the rocker arms of his Nissan sedan, authorities said in a news release.

A drug-sniffing dog detected methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine in the vehicle at a secondary inspection at the Dennis DeConcini crossing.

The drugs and sedan were seized, and Chavez-Felix was held in custody by federal authorities.
