A man with a grudge was arrested for posting nude photos online of his former girlfriend, sheriff’s officials said.
Jay Chapa, 21, of Gilbert, was booked into the Pinal County jail Wednesday and faces 10 felony counts of computer tampering, Tim Gaffney, spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, said in a news release.
Chapa is suspected of creating a fake Twitter account and posting nude photos of his ex-girlfriend as retaliation after she broke off their relationship, Gaffney said.
The 19-year-old San Tan Valley woman reported Chapa’s activities to the sheriff’s office April 25, after “she had repeatedly asked him to delete the account and its contents.”
Chapas is accused of sending the photos to more than 80 of the woman’s Twitter followers, Gaffney said.
“Chapa told the victim that he did it to hurt her as she has hurt him by not dating him any longer,” Gaffney said. After his arrest, “Chapa made admissions to creating the account and has apologized for doing so.”
