A man was arrested Saturday in connection to a stabbing of a father and son in their home in Green Valley, authorities said.

Gregory Gutierrez, 42, was taken into custody after a short pursuit in which he rammed three times into a deputy's vehicle, said Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.

Gutierrez, who also crashed into another vehicle, is facing multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault on a peace officer and driving under the influence, said Rodriguez. Gutierrez also kicked out a window of a patrol car, she said.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 17000 block of South Country Club Road for an unknown problem, said Rodriguez.

When deputies arrived, they found out that a 13-year-old boy and his 72-year-old father had been stabbed inside their home by a man who fled the scene, Rodriguez said.

The boy was stabbed in the neck, and his father was slashed in the face and stabbed in the torso.

Gutierrez, who was recognized by the boy, knocked on the front door. Once inside the home, he stabbed both victims and left in a red truck, said Rodriguez.

The boy and his father were taken by ambulance to a hospital. The boy was treated and released, but his father remains in serious condition, said Rodriguez.
