A California man was killed and another had minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 10 early Sunday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on eastbound I-10 at Ina Road, Capt. Adam Goldberg, a Northwest fire spokesman said in a news release.
Gabino Pascual Toc Herrera, 51, was driving a 2002 Chevy Astro when it left the road to the left and entered the median, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The driver turned the steering wheel to the right which put the vehicle into a clockwise spin.
The van struck a bush in the median and rolled 1 1/2 times before coming to a stop on the driver's side, according to DPS.
The driver was trapped inside the van and when paramedics gained access inside they determined he was dead, Goldberg said.
He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The 48-year-old passenger was taken to the trauma center at University of Arizona Medical Center.
He had minor injuries, Goldberg said.
Both men are from Lake Elsinore, California.
