A man was killed overnight in a gang-related shooting, a Tucson police official said.

Officers responded just after 11 p.m. Friday to a shots-fired call at an apartment complex at 3666 E. Second Street near the intersection of East Speedway and North Alvernon Way.

They found a man dead in the parking lot, Sgt. Chris Widmer, a spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release.

“It was determined by officers at the scene that the shooting was gang related,” Widmer said.

No further information was available.

Anyone with information is about the shooting should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
