A man was killed Friday night in a gang-related shooting, a Tucson police official said.

Officers responded just after 11 p.m. to a report of gunshots at an apartment complex at 3666 E. Second St., near East Speedway and North Alvernon Way.

They found a man dead in the parking lot, Sgt. Chris Widmer, a spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release.

“It was determined by officers at the scene that the shooting was gang-related,” Widmer said.

No further information was available.
