A man shot yesterday while walking his dog in a northside neighborhood, knew his assailant, a police official said.

The man was walking in the area of West Grant and North Oracle roads just before 5 p.m. when a bald, white man driving a red pickup truck drove up and shot the victim multiple times. The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital, Sgt. Maria Hawke, spokeswoman for the Tucson Police Department, said. The dog was uninjured.

“He knew the person who shot him, but we’re not able to release more details” at this time, Hawke said.

The investigation is ongoing.
