A Marana woman is facing a charge of second degree murder in the late night homicide of her husband, police officials said.

Officers were called to a home in the 8900 block of North Palm Brook Drive between North Coachline and North Silverbell roads in the Continental Ranch subdivision at about 11:15 p.m. Thursday and they found a 59-year-old man dead at the scene, Sgt. Jose Alvarez, spokesman for the Marana Police Department, said. He did not provide further details.

The victim’s 57-year-old wife, who was in the home when police arrived, was arrested, Alvarez said.

The names of the victim and the suspect will be released, once the next of kin have been notified, Alvarez said.

The investigation is ongoing.
