Two men stole more than 350 packs of cigarettes from an eastside gas station last month.

At about 12:40 a.m. June 22, two masked men entered the Chevron Gas Station located at 5 S. Houghton Road at East Broadway and stole hundreds of packs of cigarettes of various brands. Investigators suspect they planned to sell the cigarettes, Sgt. Maria Hawke, spokeswoman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release.

One of the thieves carried a handgun and had a “heavy Hispanic accent,” Hawke said. During the robbery, he was wearing an olive colored T-shirt, royal blue pants, an Oakland Raider’s baseball hat and a black bandana on his face.

The other robber was wearing a black sweatshirt emblazoned with “Tapout,” black pants and black material covering his face.

Anyone with information about the suspects or illegal cigarette trafficking should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
