An elderly Tucson man who had been missing for more than a day, was found in Sells Thursday.

A resident recognized 77-year-old Santos Urias from a missing persons alert sent out Wednesday and authorities are bringing him back to Tucson, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

At about 11 a.m. Wednesday Urias left his home in the 2100 block of East Wedwick Street near East Drexel Road between South Tucson Boulevard and South Campbell Avenue.

He went to pick up lunch for himself and his wife, but he did not return, Widmer said in a news release. He was driving his white 2000 Ford Taurus with a University of Arizona “grandpa” sticker is on the rear of the car.

Urias is diabetic, has heart problems and is in the early stages of dementia, Widmer said.
