Police have released the name of the 24-year-old man who was killed Monday night in a midtown motorcycle crash.
Curtis Gaylord was dead at the scene of the crash that occurred at about 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Speedway and North Beverly Avenue, Sgt. Chris Widmer, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release.
Investigators determined Gaylord was riding a 1998 Suzuki SX7 motorcycle eastbound on Speedway at about 95 miles per hour. A 2000 Mazda 626 passenger car was northbound on Beverly Avenue making a left hand turn to go westbound on Speedway Boulevard and pulled out in front of Gaylord’s motorcycle, Widmer said.
Gaylord was wearing a helmet.
The two occupants of the Mazda were uninjured.
No citations have been issued in the collision.
