Two people, one of whom had life-threatening injuries, were taken to a local hospital Saturday afternoon after a midtown roll-over.
The crash occurred at about 3:15 p.m. on East Aviation Parkway near East 22nd Street. A sedan sustained heavy damage and a large SUV rolled onto its roof, Capt. Chris Jurvig, spokesman for the Tucson Fire Department, said in a news release.
One of the three people in the vehicles had to be freed using the Jaws of Life, Jurvig said.
Two people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital. A third was evaluated at scene but did not want to go to the hospital.
In total 22 firefighters responded to the scene and had both patients arriving at the hospital within 20 minutes.
