A 29-year-old man was struck by a truck on the southwest side Wednesday night and died at a hospital.

At about 7:10 p.m., William Marcus was walking near the intersection of West Tetakusim Road and South Sparrow Avenue between South Camino de Oeste and West Los Reales Road when he was struck, Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, spokeswoman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, said in a news release.

Marcus was taken to a local trauma center where he died.

The 21-year-old driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck remained at the scene and was not cited in the incident, Rodriguez said.
