Seven people, including four young children, were displaced from their home because of a house fire Tuesday afternoon.

At least 15 dogs, many of them puppies, two cats and some other small pets were rescued from the home unharmed, a Tucson Fire official said.

The house fire was reported in the 2100 block of North Isabel Boulevard, near East Grant Road and North Alvernon Way.

Three of the family members were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation, said Tucson Fire Capt. Barrett Baker. The animals were turned over to Pima County Animal Control.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
