A Tucson agency is looking for warm bodies to play dead and injured ones.

The Pima County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security (OEMHS) is staging a training exercise from 8 am. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the northwest side and they need volunteers willing to play victims, Caren Prather, volunteer coordinator, said.

Four to five teams — including one made up of middle schoolers — which have received at least 20 hours of training, will put their skills to the test in assessing the “victims” of a natural disaster scenario, Prather said. Volunteers will be “painted up with wounds” for the training. They also will be fed lunch.

Volunteer victims must register by 10 a.m. today. For more information, or to sign up, call 351-3200.

The OEMHS provides emergency management services and assists municipalities and local governments with developing plans to ensure the highest level of preparedness.
