Pima County sheriff's deputies are looking for two women suspected of stealing five bottles of booze from a foothills Walgreens and a third woman who drove the getaway car, but said she was "not stupid enough to use the real (license) plate."

The incident happened on March 25 around 10 a.m. at Walgreens, 1415 W. River Road, Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a sheriff's department spokeswoman said in a news release.

A clerk told deputies he saw two women grab five bottles of liquor and leave the story without paying for them, the release said.

The clerk followed the women outside and saw them get into a parked car with another woman in the driver's seat.

"The clerk had to step aside to avoid being hit by the suspect's vehicle as it was backing up," the release said.

As the clerk was writing down the license plate of the vehicle the driver rolled down the window and told him "they were not stupid enough to use the real plate," the release said.

The driver sped out of the parking lot and almost hit the clerk, the release said.

The two women who entered the story are described as being around 30-years-old with medium builds and they were wearing shorts.
