A Pinal County sheriff’s official has released the names of a husband and wife whose deaths are attributed to murder-suicide.

Deputies were called to a shots-fired call just before 4 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 10000 block of North Baltimore Drive in Casa Grande.

When deputies arrived, the found 45-year-old Sherri A. Stearns and her husband, Alexander M Stearns, 47, dead in the yard, said Tim Gaffney, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. Both individuals appeared to have died from gunshot wounds.

“Based on evidence at the scene, detectives have determined the man shot his wife and then shot himself,” Gaffney said.

Detectives have not yet determined a motive for the shooting, he said.
