A high school teacher in Pinal County is accused of showing up for work drunk and continuing to drink throughout the school day, officials say.

Students at Poston Butte High School in San Tan Valley called the main office Wednesday after they say Kathleen Jardine, 57, began cursing at them, Pinal County Sheriff's officials said.

Jardine told a deputy she had been drinking the night before, that morning and in the classroom during her lunch break.

The deputy said Jardine, a math teacher, had a blood alcohol  level of .205, according to a news release.

Jardine, of Chandler, was cited for suspicion of one count of consumption of alcohol in public. She was released to her daughter.
